Meet the Board

The mission of the Garfield Alumni Foundation is to engage in educational and charitable projects that benefit the students of James A. Garfield High School by utilizing the skills and talents of our alumni.

Our goal is to maintain the educational, athletic, musical and pageantry of the school by making scholarships available to students. The foundation makes this possible with the assistance of corporations, local business, and individual contributions.

Another one of our goals is to develop beneficial relationships between James A. Garfield High School, business, alumni, parents, and the community.

One of the major projects we participate in each year is the Fifth Quarter Dance and Fundraiser, now in its 51st year. Each year we award scholarships to deserving graduating Garfield seniors to assist them in their educational goals.

Recently, we have expanded your fundraising efforts to include a Football Fundraiser, a Deep Sea Fishing Trip, The Classic Beef Bowl, and in 2014 a inaugural Golf Tournament, and A Day at The Races.

Details for these events will be posted on this website as well as Facebook. We are a 501 (c ) (3) nonprofit organization and are completely supported, and work closely with the school administration to coordinate our efforts. All our fundraising money goes directly to the school programs we support, and your contributions are fully tax deductible.
